This is my senior thesis.
At any moment we can lose someone we love; we can even lose ourselves. I want to remind us of the fragility of the human life by connecting it to an everyday object, a plate. It’s easily breakable, but it holds the food that gives us life. My grandfather was a French Jew. During the war he hid in the mountainous French region of Provence. Throughout his life he wrote songs and poems to express how he felt. His words (in French, his language and a source of great pride) on the front of the plates express how he felt at various times; on the back is a quick summary of what happened during that year in English.
